We always agree the boundaries of confidentiality at the start of a business/ executive coaching assignment.
We are very careful what we agree to disclose to an employer, because confidentiality is one of the most important aspects of the coaching relationship. This means that by demanding too much, an employer can inadvertently hijack the process and thereby not obtain from it the value they want. We would never disclose the subject matter of a coaching session to an employer without the coachee's permission.
We cannot guarantee that email is confidential. Please do not put anything of a highly sensitive nature in an email to us.
